Ok, so I'm reading it right now..
I'll go point by point until I tire, I'll use big round numbers as
they are easier to type:
Contacted 10,000 experts from academia and government research centers
around the world from American Geological Institute's Directory of
Geoscience Departments which lists OVER 100,000 (Data from 2004) So
they contacted 10% of "scientists"
Emailed them invitations and only those invited could participate
which translates into "hand picked"
and only 3000 took the survey so we are now down to 3%. Just to
review that's THREE PERCENT of scientists "agreed"
The first question is an possible 'yes' answer, as it excludes the
mini ice age from 1600's to mid 1800's. In science speak, it's a bad
question. But still showed only 90% approval.
The second question, "..has human activity been a significant
factor.." and only 82% responded positively. So now we're down to
LESS THAN 3% of "scientists" and only 2400 of the hand picked folks
believe it.
Very important missing info, how many climatologists are in the
group? The publication, Eos:transactions etc., is NOT PEER REVIEWED,
it's a weekly newsletter and it only goes to 50,000 earth scientists
which encompass geology to hurricane research!!
I can't access the original article.. ok, I won't pay to read it. But
from the info you provided it's a bogus claim.
