Ryan called me to say it shifts now.
He called last night and I told him what I thought it was.
It was indeed a rusty spring in the reverse lock out plunger.
A bit of PB blaster and some finesse and it's all fixed.
It was my fault for washing the tranny when we pulled it out of the car.
Water from the tranny wash caused it to rust and then it sat for a 4-6
weeks before it was installed.
