I have never understood the reasoning for a removeable hardtop but no
softtop. Did other sports cars of the era have an equivalent model?
     Just curious.

The Tiger GT did not have a folding cloth top, or provision for one. The
removable hardtop is the only protection from the elements. Alpines from
series 3 to series 5 also were offered in GT trim.

     Fancy upholstery is my guess.

I saw a picture recently of a fellow with a MK 1 Tiger GT, and supposedly
only 15 or so were made. What sets a Tiger apart as a GT? (I don't have
any of the good reference books)
