It's great to hear from a fellow worker (we call them swamp rats down
here). I'm surprised by the number of auto enthusiasts who don't belong
or even know of the SCCA. I have been involved with them since the early
70's, crewing for my Dad in the Midwest region.
I started my own race program about 7 years ago developing a 72 Datsun
510 into a Improved Touring class competitor. My tiger is in such good
shape I hate to think of it going wheel to wheel right now, even though
club and vintage type racing events here race using the 3/13 rule. If
there is contact between cars both parties must forgo racing for 3
events, if there is another contact incident during the 13 month
probation period that competitor is banned permanently. So there is a
real incentive to keep things clean. How do they run Vintage up there?
Do your vintage classes allow you to keep your Tiger stock?
