cold air

No, this is not an air conditioning letter, the big season for AC has passed
here in Michigan. I have been noticing the last couple days, we have had a
bit of a cold snap here & my Tiger loves it. It runs a lot more powerfully
after warmup than what it does on those hot summer days, I did a" dump the
clutch" acceleration run this evening & it ran real strong, shifting at the
end of the scale (5500 rpm?) on my somewhat questionable tach in first &
second. On hot days it sometimes goes flat aftre 4500 or so.
Which brings me to my question. Has anyone out there tried a cold air
induction setup, mabey similar to an early 80's Mustang GT, with cold air to
the air cleaner form those horn openings that we're supposed to block off to
get the air through the radiator? And if anyone did, were you happy with the
results? I'm just amazed with the difference in how strong my car runs in 60
degree weather compared to 90 degree weather, & I sure would like to figure
out how I can make it run strong all the time, without butchering the hood.
Happy Motoring
