Funbeam,

Do a careful job cutting down the blades on this rare item. The interference
point is the rack and only the aft portion of the blade needs to be cut
away. You do need to leave a reasonable amount of clearance to accommodate
movement of the engine though. Once you determine what needs to be removed,
you need to make a template and cut each blade exactly the same to maintain
balance. To really do it right, I suppose you ought to balance it before
mounting it. Also, the blade is supposed to use the shaft for centering, not
rely on the four mounting bolts. So when you open up the center hole don't
"drill it out", since this will undoubtedly not give an accurately centered
hole. All of this is really a job for a machinist, so if you happen to know
one who would do the job in exchange for a case of beer, etc., by all means
seize the opportunity.
