Stu,

The factory installed no return spring, external or otherwise, on Tigers. It
is a good idea though to install one to ensure that the throwout bearing
doesn't ride on the clutch release fork. Here is a link to a discussion of a
return spring for Panteras. It has a picture and instructions from which you
can extrapolate to the Tiger.
