Question about the throw out bearing, Weber recommends not using
silicone fluid. After testing their seals for swelling I concluded it
must be for reasons of wear due to regular fluid being more slippery and
ultimately decided to go with the Valvoline synpower or whatever it is.
I've run silicone for over 20 years otherwise but have had some wear in
master cylinders. Anyone have any insight on this?

The solution to the McCloud throw-out bearing is to replace the
small "banjo" type fittings that contain the tiny O-rings with fixed 90
degree replacements. It's a little harder to work this more rigid
assembly
into place but mine's been "in" since '95 and hasn't leaked a drop of
the
silicone fluid I run. It's also a perfect match for the OEM clutch
master
cylinder and the Centerforce clutch.
