No, I do not have any specific examples.  If you go here, however, you will 
find Tiger stock concours judging sheets from TE/AE:  
http://www.teae.org/concours/  You will note that in every category there are 
points given for "overall originality."  Other competitions publish specific 
exceptions such as the ones I mentioned, while the express terms of the Tiger 
competitions bespeak a penalty.  Additionally, in speaking to a judge on the 
phone some time ago (cannot remember who it was, but I believe it was a TEAE 
person) when I had some questions about how to even begin a stock restoration, 
I was informed that a dual master cylinder would result in a deduction.

It seems to me that absent publishing exceptions to the originality point 
system, there are no exceptions.  You know how legalistic I get.
