Phil's Tiger is a Mk2 (right?) so the markings on the series V Alpine tach
should be the correct font. Other than that, though, Matt's decals are very
nice and definitely a good way to go if you want a 7k tach face that looks
right in the Mk1 / Mk1A Tiger.

Since we're on the tach subject, how many folks are interested in tach
lighting that works? I have a prototype board using white LEDs that installs
inside the tach (disassembly is required), that provides even, bright
illumination at 1/3 the power input of a 2W incandescent bulb. Cost would be
about $30. I have pictures at home... I'll post them tonight. Matching
illumination for the other gauges could be done the same way, probably at
even lower power, but I haven't got around to trying that out yet. My
earlier plan of using standard lamp bases (as written up on the TU website)
is being derailed by the lamp base vendors' insistence on 10,000 minimum
quantities.

I made a 7000 RPM tach decal that can be applied to your original tach.
If you need a 7000 RPM tach, I think this looks much better than an Alpine
tach, as the decal matches the original. Cost is $25 each.

Here is a link to a not-so-good picture of it:
