Brian
        My gas cap is vented.

Vent tubes in wheel well?? I'm not sure I understand your meaning. The
tube in each wheel well is a water drain pipe from the convertible top and
they need to be open to drain water.

Brian,

I am forwarding your gas tank question to the list, as I have not had
this problem. I never have pressure behind the gas cap, to my knowledge
(experience at gas pump).

I am assuming that there are plenty of list members who have specific
experience with this issue.
