I would guess there is a tool that fits in the holes to tighten it up.
Probably only one existed when they were put together and it is long lost.
Check Ebay because there are probably at least a dozen for sale. -- Bill --
I thought that the chrome piece acted as the jam nut. My stock knob
doesn't move and there is no jam nut. I assumed that the chrome piece is
jammed
against the knob.
