i recently installed a 13" 6 blade flex fan where previously i only
had an electric pusher. the results are obviously very satisfactory,
taking care of the marginal cooling in traffic and high temps
perfectly.
i have noticed however that i now get a squeaking from the fan belt as
it slips (particularly as the engine picks up or at mid-high rpm. i
tightened it little and it improved but is still happening. i'm not
sure i want to tighten any more as its already fairly tight and i
wouldn't want to over strain the alternator or water pump.
i guess slipping can't be good for the belt as it'll heat it up a lot,
so are there an tips to making it a bit stickier?
