There are as many types of Rallye as there are ingenious rallymasters. It
sounds like the VTR regional (at least the rallye you signed up for) is a
"gimmick" type of event where you drive a prescribed route (you'll get
instructions) and answer questions about landmarks, signs, sights, etc. along
the way. This event may or may not be timed, sometimes the timing is to break
a tie, but gimmick rallies are not usually as closely times ad a TSD event
would be.

Best advice? Relax, don't get too caught-up in the competitive side of the
rallye, just enjoy the drive and the cleverness of the rallymaster who thought
up the questions.

What exactly does a Rallye involve? I know the web site says you have to
answer questions about points along the route, but what else is involved?
Is it timed or just a leisurely drive? VTR SE will be my first registered
event, so I'm not exactly sure what I'm getting into, except a great
weekend. My SO and I attended last year without a car, my TR6 wasn't on the
road yet. We had a great time, even though we were not registered (didn't
know about registering as it was our first event) so we're really looking
forward to participating this year.
