John, just did this on my 75. The tubes were rusted thru in places and the
nuts welded with rust into the manifold. I knew that the tubes could never
to be used again so I sawed them off flush with the nuts. That way the
manifold could be heated red hot and a six point socket used on the nut. I
struggled and managed to remove just one of the nuts. Once the nut was out,
the tube behind it slid out easily. Giving up on the remaining five, they
were drilled out and tapped with a 1/4 pipe tap. You have to drill deep
enough to release the injector tubes. Now the manifold has six allen head
steel pipe plugs. It looks pretty good with the plugs set flush with
manifold surface.
