Hi Gentlemen,

I'm the new owner (July 2001) of a beautiful original paint etc., 1974 1/2
TR6, Commission #CF 3040UO.

However I've been trying to get the horns to work! I hooked up the horns
directly to the battery, with my booster cables, and they hoot just fine!
The horn relay #512-170 has been replaced. The horn brush contact has been
checked for continuity - OK, the horn slip ring has been cleaned. Still no
joy when the button is pressed!

I note that there is a wire attached to the horn slip ring, where does this
go? Is it grounded to the steering column or does this run down the steering
column and ground somewhere? One thing I still need to check is the ground
strap that goes across the flexible coupling in the steering column. Is this
known to be an issue?

There is a wire attached to the steering box lub plug, this is a ground
associated with the horns I believe.

Any suggestions or info to help me solve this mystery will be much
appreciated, and save my yelling!! ;)

Thanks.

Mike.
