On a similar note,  I checked mine the other day when I was replacing the 
timing chain and gears.  My dial indicator showed .009, which is just over 
the specified "ideal" settings of .004 to .008.  I am not planning on doing 
anything about this just yet,as this does not appear to me to be too much 
wear from original spec.

My question is how much is too much?  At what point does end play become a 
problem that has to be fixed?
