Ok I just put in new bushings, converted over to tube shocks and put in new
springs. I drove the car about 20 miles, and it was great, but then
something happened. The fact that I tested the limits of adhesion earlier
may have contributed to the event.

The rear end tends to shudder almost like driving over a washboard (at say 2
to 7MPH). At higher speeds it is just a vibration I can feel in the shift
lever. I put the car in the air and noticed that the right rear wheel could
move, or jiggle like the lug nuts were slightly loose except they were
not. I took the wheel and brake drum off and notices that I could jiggle
the studs in and out about 1/8 inch as well.

The bolts connecting the inner axle to the drive flange on the differential
are tight. The nylock nuts holding the rear hub housing to the trailing arm
are also tight, the brake assembly does not move, and is held in tight by
the hub housing. The hub and outer axle shaft appear move in and out about
1/8 inch.
