I've got a similar setup on my car. A bit over 9.5:1 compression, 1.65
rockers, GP3 (the GP2 wasn't around when I bought this cam) cam. No
problems on 93 octane gas, and the car runs great. Totally streetable,
reliable, and great power. A bit of a lope at idle, but not annoying.
I added a third carb (using the Goodparts triple carb manifold) about a
year after doing the head/rockers/cam upgrade. It's hard to say how
much power (if any) I gained with the third carb, but then again, I
haven't really got the triple setup working quite right (rear carbs are
running rich). You'd be surprised how much power the stock carbs are
capable of producing, once you get the cam and head sorted out.
