I buy extra pint cans and fill the two pint cans when I open the POR-15 quart.
I use one of those
very thin plastic sandwich bags between the lid and the can. Not the heavy duty
freezer bags with
the zip lock, but the cheapo very thin ones with the "pocket" foldable top. I
use both layers so one
sticks to the lid and the other to the can, but they don't seem to stick to
either lid or can. I
just use a new one every time I open/close the can. I also store the opened
cans upside down. Not
sure what that does -- maybe is more air tight -- maybe nothing.
I never have any problems with the can lid sticking on. But it will w/o the
plastic bag. You will
have to destroy the can to get it open if any paint gets in between the lid and
the can.
Always use plastic gloves -- cover exposed skin -- eye protection etc. The
stuff doesn't come off
when dry. Paint remover will take it off other stuff -- not your skin :-)
