Hey guys. I'm looking at redoing the dashboard on my TR6 this winter. It is
in fairly good shape and I like the wood
grain of the veneer, but the color/finish of the veneer is very, very light and
I'd like something a little richer, with
a bit more red in it to match the aftermarket wooden steering wheel and wooden
shift knob. At this point I'm not sure if
I'm going to try to carefully strip the finish off of the existing veneer and
refinish it (which I've done before on
some furniture in my house) or just replace the veneer all together. I've done
my fair share of wood projects over my
life, so I'm comfortable doing the job. But what I was wondering is if any one
had any suggestions, tips, caveats, etc.
from past experience. Also, I'd really be interested in seeing some "finished
product" photos from those of you who
have done this in the past. Thanks guys.
