[6pack] Float chamber vent valve

Does anyone know of a good way to pull out the brass sleeve for the
float chamber vent valve on the later style carbs?  The valve is
sticking on one of the carbs (more accurately, doesn't want to push
back out when the throttle moves off idle)  and I'd like to pull the
valve components out to check them out, but I don't want to destroy
the brass sleeve.
