It is a common problem for the stock tachometer to stop working when the points 
are dumped for electronic ignition.
IIRC the fix is to wind more turns on the loop of wire in the tach wrapped 
around the coil current sense wire.

I have successfuly fitted 2 webbers and electronic ignition to my engine
however the tachometer is no longer working. we fitted the + and - leads from
the distributor electronics direct to the coil and the engine runs fine. The
origional white lead is also connected to the + on the coil. Any answers
appreciated.
