good autox turbo.

Firstly, the latest & greatest in STU news can be found on the newly updated STU
Home Page, located at http://www.wincom.net/trog/stu/ I spent the weekend
working on this thing, comments are welcome.
The long and the short of it is that the rulebooks go out to print mid-November.
The Powers that Be are actively discussing STU and what the 2000 rules are going
to look like. There are still a couple of items being debated, but it appears
that the remainder of our proposal is going to go through.
The items being debated are the emissions/street registered requirement, and the
engine displacement limits. Everything else has been "accepted" - and my last
info had the emissions/street registration requirement dropped in favour of an
(enforceable) laundry list of required equipment - just like our proposal -
along with a possible name change to "Touring Unlimited"
Lest anyone's knickers get knotted, this is a Risk Management thing - the
"laundry list" will include everything needed to make a street legal vehicle.
The class is still the same, but the SCCA doesn't have to deal with the word
"street" associated with vehicles that may not be street legal in some
states/provinces.
...and it's subject to change. :)
The bottom line is that I'll be getting the Official Rules from the National
Office when they go out to the rule book printer, and then I'll post them on the
web site. So far, it looks like we're getting everything we wanted, in the way
we wanted.
