Recently someone mentioned numbers flying off during events that someone ran
through their printer. Those printable sheets are made to make business
cards to go on your refrigerator, not on the sides of cars!

I own a small company that makes ergonomic products for computer users. We
make inkjet printed magnetic signs for the sides of our vehicles. The
printable sheets are too thin and will not stay on a car at speed. You must
buy the thicker sheets at the hobby shop. Buy whatever you want for area of
the number's background. Print your numbers in any color you want. Glue them
to the magnetic stock. Laminate with clear plastic sheeting. Make sure that
you leave 1/4 inch minimum laminate beyond the paper that the numbers are
printed on.

I have a set that have been on the side of my pickup for over a year. They
hold up fine, these have been outside in the weather every day including
this last winter! They do fade a bit in the sun, for autocross use they
should last forever. Care must be taken to store them flat to maximize their
effectiveness at holding to the car.

Too bad I autocross a Fiero!
