Joe -- the "road race" tire is what you want. We who run in Prep and Mod
classes on slicks are running the roadrace tires from Hoosier and others.
There are not different "autocross compounds" as such in slicks. "Road race"
tire = slick-tread tire.

Hoosier Autocrossers, by that name, are DOT bias-ply tires intended for the
Stock/Street Prepared classes.

Get the Hoosier R45s. That's what most of us on Hoosier slicks are running
now.

A good website would be http://www.rsracing.com/ - that's Ron Ver Mulm's
site, autocrosser (CP Camaro) and Hoosier dealer. And
http://www.kcraceware.com/ - that's Charlie Clark's site, he's both
autocrosser (CP) and road racer (GT3) in the same Corvair, also a Hoosier
dealer.
