AutomationDirect.com Summer Saturday Shootout #2 held at Turner Field in
Atlanta, GA on July 7th, 2001.
The last picture was the result of the overall champion round with Ken
Rupp in the silver Toyota Celica beating Larry Pulliam in the red Toyota
Celica. The finish line is in line with the light poles and Rupp is
already past it.
You will notice that the cars stage side-by-side next to the curb with a
"christmas tree" between them. The tree has a staging light, a yellow
light that flashes 3 times, a green light to launch and a red light if a
driver launches too soon. Classes are handicapped between them using the
top qualifying time and RTP indexed delays. This parts for this system
was donated to Atlanta Region by AutomationDirect.com and built by our
very own Dave Hardy.

Don't miss out on the final event in this head-to-head series on August
18th. Remember we have reduced the entry fee to only $30 for minimum of 6
runs. We have also added a Novice bracket to the competition and are
splitting the brackets by more closely related handicaps.
Ken Rupp is leading the points in this series with a perfect score of 140
points followed by Ben Thatcher (in the #171 BSP silver Corvette) in
second and Kent DeJarnett (in the #66 SS black Corvette) in third.
