I too have been researching a "performance" tire for my 1989 MR2 which also
runs 185/60-R14 tires.. but discovered very quickly that 195/60-R14 is a
Plus-Zero which should work perfectly for that application.. in fact I am
running my old wheels and tires off of my 1996 Integra LS on my MR2 and they
are 195/60-R14 and they work great!

I plan on getting those Falken Azenis in the 195/60-R14 size for the MR2 =)
