shaky engine

my sp310 1500 engine tends to badly vibrate around the 1500 rev zone
it idles ok at about 650 but as you increase the revs it gets worse
new engine mounts are fitted,i think its a tuning problem,any hints?
the worse thing about the engine vibration is the exhaust system
continually knocks on the chassis. help
greg mitchell 1965 sp310 1500 ps does anyone know or have an idea of how
many of these cars still exist.
