Michael,

I made a plexiglas screen for my 67.5 when I went racing years ago. I did 
have to drill into the metal, but on the thin flat panel that the bottom of 
the windshield rests on. When I ever put the windshield back on, the holes 
should be easy to seal , and then they will be covered by the windshield 
itself.

I mounted small aluminum angle brackets to the holes and then rivited the 
brackets to the plexiglas. Used a propane torch to soften the plexiglas at 
the ends, curved it around, and rivited in place.  You can see a picture of
