Rusted wheel studs

Hello,

Roadster content:
Still sanding away on my 67.5 1600, was hoping to get it repainted
this Spring, but it's looking more like Summer now...

I bought some new Yokohama Avid T4s for my 83 280ZX, and had
them mounted to my stock wheels yesterday.  Two of the wheel
studs were rusted, and had to be broken off.  Is there anything
I can do to keep this from happening again?
