Paint stripper removal

Has anyone used a paint stripper and figured out how to remove it from the
cracks and seams on the car without steam cleaning? I'm thinking the problems
I'll create (rust) by getting the car soaked exceed the benefits. How about
hot soap and water using a scrub brush and working on a localized area? I also
have compressed air to blow out the seams after cleaning.
