Cracked 1600 exhaust manifold

Hello all,

       My stock 1600 exhaust manifold is cracked at one of the welds. Has 
anyone had any luck welding them? My thought was to bolt it to a spare head 
to holt it straight then weld it. I have both gas and TIG available. If 
anyone has had success with one I'd like to hear how it was done.
