Erick,

I removed the timing cover without
removing the head and ended up putting
in a new head gasket to correct an oil
leak problem over the timing cover. I
also had to put a thread insert into one
of the small bolt holes in the timing
cover to be able to securely insert one
of the 6.1mm bolts on the front corner
of the head.

If your head and block are clean and
flat a standard head gasket without any
additives (glue) should work for you.
Changing the head gasket should only
take 2 or 3 hours at the most. The
biggest problem will be those wonderful
nuts on the manifolds.

Does anyone know of a good U-20 head
gasket that would address the little
leaking problem in the rear corner of
the head? Or what are some good fixes
out there that won't take a huge amount
of time and money. I have two days to
get this project done and little money.
Mine is currently leaking pretty nicely
at the rear corner as well as from the
front timing cover area (I took the
cover off without pulling the head..
figures it would leak) I figured this
was a good time to do this project
because my intake manifold has developed
a small pinhole leak and is spraying
antifreeze on my exhaust manifold.

Thanks in advance!!
Eric
