You are already on the 311s site at second to last to register. Then there
are the numbers on the VIN page.
http://www.311s.org/pmwiki-311/pmwiki.php?n=TechSection.VINNumbers

a.. 1970 1600 --SPL311-27001-31350**July 1969--??? 1970
a.. 1970 2000 --SRL311-13001-14450**July 1969--??? 1970

The Datsun Roadster book says there were 1109 1600s and 92 2000s for 1970.

This is what Rallye http://www.datsunroadster.com/INFO_PAGES/what_year.htm
has

NOTE: Highest 1600 vin found so far is SPL311-31304
NOTE: Highest 2000 vin found so far is SRL311-14420
