I believe you could walk into a tire shop and buy these wheels for any car
that fit the bolt pattern, VW, Datsun, Triumph, etc. The keys to 'Genuine'
Silverstones are: Made of magnesium alloy and have the threaded center for
the hollow eared knock off. Genuine knock offs have 'off' and a directional
arrow stamped in them. A number is cast into the back of the hub area of the
wheel - I can't remember what it is...

I one set of 'genuine' Silverstones on the street TR4A. I also 2 have exact
copies of these wheels in aluminum with threaded centers. I have seen the
hollow knock offs with no stamping and three eared knock offs for these
wheels.

real
thing?

Did all of the real Silverstones have numbers and/or letters cast in the
backside of the wheel?>>
