I spent the summer of 1981 on exchange with the Israeli Air Force and I can
certainly say it is amazing how much equipment they have. Not all the time
in country was spent on Air Force bases. One of the most memorable was
having lunch with an Armored Brigade up on the Golan Heights and being
rushed out when some Syrians (or others) fired off some motors our direction.

I still have sitting here on my desk the Israeli Air Force beret that I
traded with one of our hosts.
