In my misspent youth, I spent too much time reading oil filter
specifications. Filters with a bypass fit 3/4" threads, non bypass fit
11/16" threads. IIRC bypass springs were from 2PSI to 9 PSI, housing size
has no bearing on spring tension.
Ask your parts guy to allow you to read his FRAM catalog, of locate the
one in the isle. The specification section has lots of interesting info.
