My 64 Spit (Now Marty's) was street legal for a short while. Well, it had
plates anyway and it was 'mostly' legal...It was legal in Wisconsin, which
had some pretty lax definitions of 'street legal' at the time. Turn signals
were ArmStrong,  no generator/alternator, you had to plug in the battery
when you got home, etc. I drove it down to the gas station one to put gas in
it(2 blocks), and drove it from the storage location to the garage (about 11
miles) on slicks. It was fun....
