The Datsun Z engine has many differences but will go in quite well. Similar 
displacement, similar carb setup, etc. It's a lighter 6 cylinder engine with 
same and/or greater power.
Here in town is a nice Healey 3000 with a 280Z driveline. If you see a red 
one with big round Hella lamps mounted on a badge bar, that may be him.
