Best "first book" is the Bentley reprint of the original factory manual for the 
6-cyl Healeys.

Availability has diminished in the last few years, but some of the online book 
dealers (motorbooks, etc.) might have it.  Also try Jerry Wall (who's on this 
list)
 jerryw@healey.org   He's the doc manager for the Austin-Healey Club, USA.
