Dave,

Just disassembled my BJ7 windshield frame for chroming. Most of it unbolts
easily but there are rivets that attach the convertible top hooks and rivets
that hold the three piece assembly that makes up the left and right uprights.
The rivets are available from British Car Specialist but they are the type that
require bucking bars/rivet guns for assembly (unfortunately, no pop rivets!).
If you don't want to disassembly everything you can try to get it chromed in
one piece but it's going to be difficult/next to impossible to get smooth
chrome around the top hooks.

Cheers,
John

Two windshield questions for everyone:

1. FRAME CHROMING: Can I simply take the entire
frame off, then have the glass removed, and have a
chrome shop refinish the frame? I'm speculating
that's it's not that easy and I may need to
disassemble the frame.

2. GLASS INSTALL: I can't find a shop that's willing
to touch a Healey windshield install. Is it a
'doable' job at home? Any tips from your past
experience is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
