The wiring diagram in the Bentley manual is not correct.  It has the ground 
wire switched with another - W1 and W2 reversed.  Not good.  Could this be 
your problem ?  The wiring should be this (I have a picture if you want):

On the left, top to bottom:
W1 - White with purple (2)
C2 - White with green (2)
C1 - White (2)

On the right, single connection lower right:
W2 - Black
