See if you can borrow a Cavalier, Escort, Honda or Toyota with a manual trans
from someone unsuspecting. They have light clutches and easy shift effort.
Take your daughters to a high school with a BIG parking lot (go on the
weekend). Explain the basics of gearing (use bicycle as comparison). Then
.....
hang on.
Both my daughters (25 and 22) drive cars with manual trans. Always have. In
fact, the oldest has this 'thing' where she says she won't even drive an
automatic.
