 1) Is there somebody that rebuilds the vacuum units? It's an early model
and according to Moss as NLA
Distributor parts are very hard to get piece by piece now. You can by the
whole distributor unit for your car, however, or you can send your
distributor to be completely rebuilt. The Vacuum unit has very little
bearing on the power your car makes and should not be causing your low
torque problem (if you think about it, under power as working vacuum advance
will not do anything to the timing... only when the throttle is off does it
come into play). Your car has low torque for other reasons, it's not the
vacuum advance unit. I think it sounds like you need to tune up your car.

2) Should the AH have as much low end torque as my Triumph TR250?
It should have a heck of alot more than a TR 250!

3) Is there a list of parts vendors?
In the US, always buy from an Austin healey specialist rather than from
Moss directly. a couple great suggestions are
www.britishcarspecialists.com<http://www.britishcarspecialists.com>or
hemphills healey haven @
*410-788-2291. *

*For the monster list of parts suppliers try :
http://www.dimebank.com/monster/vendors.html (print out this list)*
**
*Other healey specialists (UK- based, very good) are
www.ahspares.co.uk<http://www.ahspares.co.uk>,
www.cape-international.com <http://www.cape-international.com>, and
www.bighealey.co.uk <http://www.bighealey.co.uk>*

4) How difficult is it to pull the motor and trans? I'd like to detail the
engine compartment and it appears to do it right I need to do this.
It's a big job... I wouldn't do it unless I planned on rebuilding the
motor. It weighs a ton!
 Good luck!!
