Hi Ruud,
Essentially that is correct. 60 spoke wheels are not a good fit on the front
of a BN4.
I believe some hubs have been produced which move the wheel out sufficiently
to permit the use of 60 spoke wheels but this does change the scrub radius
which is not really a good thing.
72 spoke wheels do clear the front brake drums.
I'm sure other solutions will abound.

Can someone on the list help me with some information on the following.
 
The inner spokes of my 60 spoke wheels are just touching the front brake
drums of my BN4. This causes the paint to be damaged on the drums. I
think that when leaving the works, the car had 48 spoke wheels. Could it
be that these hubs only fit the 48 spoke wheels? Do I need different
hubs for 60 spoke wheels?
