i found that when i bought the 1/16 inch copper pipe, the ferrule and the
compression nut, the nut had different threads and the ferrule did not fit
correctly. had to get the torch out and unsolder the british style compression
fitting off, solder it to the end of the copper pipe, then slide the old
british compression nut on to tighten it down. works fine but i kept thinking
i should have used steel pipe, but no hardware store carried it. healeymanjim
