As far as number of muscle car survivors it depends on how you count them in 
many cases, 100s of  thousands if not millions of the basic Mustang were 
built for example, fewer of the Shelby Mustang, then you get into engine and 
transmission options, the mopars with a hemi are worth more but not all 
mopars built with hemis, the 427 aluminum block Corvette (ZL1 maybe?? don't 
remember the exact reference) was built in very limited numbers.  I was 
going to compare them to the difference between a 100 and a 100M, but more 
like the difference between a 100 and a 100S.  The high option high value 
cars have not only different engines, but in many cases brakes, upgraded 
suspension, limited slip differentital, more guages, etc. etc.
