Jim,
If you think, that your toe adjustment may be 1/2" off, do not drive the car
until this gets checked and/or fixed. A toe adjustment that far off will
put significant additional stress on the suspension, and significant wear on
the tires.
There was a thread on the list a month or two ago, that included several
suggestions for checking toe in, toe out at home.
