Sounds like it operates the way it should. On many OD systems a kick 
down switch is integrated. When you press the loud pedal in 3rd OD or 
4th OD  the OD will switch off going back to 3rd or 4th. When backing 
off the OD comes in again going to 3rd OD or 4th OD.
